FIRE PROTECTION
Compartmentation and smoke & heat exhaust
With over thirty years of experience, Aldes offers a full range of solutions to protect everyone’s lives. Two techniques must be combined to fight fire effectively:
- smoke and heat exhaust to remove the smoke produced by the fire, to create a breathable airlock giving the occupants time to leave the building and the emergency services to intervene.
- compartmentalisation that prevents the spread of flames and smoke to the whole building by restoring the fire resistance level of the walls.
Smoke and heat exhaust fans
The Aldes fan range is designed to adapt to all building configurations, from the most basic to the most complex. It has received numerous certifications.
The specific nature of mechanical smoke and heat exhaust is the use of extractor fans or even blower fans, sized to extract a target airflow, with constant performance over time whatever the weather conditions.
The choice depends on the type of system and according to the desired performance.

Relay boxes
Aldes is the leader in safety boxes and inventor of the “ALL-IN-ONE” solution, where the AXONE safety box is wired to the smoke and heat exhaust fan. We also propose progressive-start (1- and 2-speed) safety boxes.

Smoke exhaust dampers and air inlets
Aldes air inlets and dampers are important components in a fire safety system. They open on command to extract smoke and heat, allowing fresh air into the required area.
They must therefore be sized correctly, clearly identified and marked at safety devices, and left fully unobstructed.
Protective screens protect the dampers against external aggressions (kicks, forklift trucks, hospital beds) and prevent people from falling into smoke and heat exhaust ducts.

Fire dampers and cartridges
Dampers are indispensable elements in ventilation ductwork. They help to prevent the fire from spreading. They ensure the fire is compartmentalised inside the building by restoring the fire protection rating of the partition walls crossed by circular or rectangular ventilation ducts. The Aldes range?
